About Dr. Ibale Matthew

Ibale Matthew is a board-certified addiction counselor and recovery specialist with over 35 years of experience dedicated to transforming lives and fostering long-term sobriety for adults and families. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Towson State University and received his specialized clinical training from the University of Maryland. He completed his advanced certification in addiction therapy at the State University of New York at Buffalo.

In 1984, Ibale founded the Recovery Associates network. Driven by a deep commitment to clinical excellence, he is a Benefactor of the Foundation for Addiction Research, where he advocates for the integration of data-driven, "evidence-based" treatment approaches. He is an invited member of the Circle of Excellence and holds active professional memberships with the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence, the National Association for Addiction Professionals, and the Global Institute of Addictive Disorders.

Ibale's expertise is frequently sought out by fellow clinicians regarding complex, long-term recovery cases. He is a sought-after speaker both nationally and internationally, where he educates professionals on the use of integrative neuroscience and 3D physiological monitoring to improve personalized treatment planning and sustainable recovery outcomes.
